Great as always! Cindy is always willing to share her expertise, reviewing photos and offering help with settings and framing. She offers live feedback while shooting rather than sit down, classroom type instruction and I learn much better doing and applying than just being told what / how to do it. Camera settings handout was a great reference tool!

It was most helpful, I feel very confident in how to use the camera now. The class was more technical in terms of how to use the equipment we have and learned about aperture, ISO and shutter speed, which was new to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class! Cynthia organized the information in a way that was easy for us beginners to understand. We had ample time to practice and for Cynthia to answer any additional questions we had. She also provided some print out and online resources to support our continued independent practice.

I just finished taking photos for a home to be listed and noticed the clouds with the sunset looming. I figured I would get to the park in time for a great sunset photo and unfortunately I was a few minutes late! I still decided to take some shots and they still came out nicely. While taking some shots a boat passed by and some kayakers which I also have shots of.Shot on my Sony A7RIV 16-35mm GM lens. 35mm 1 sec shutter, F/11 ISO 400. August 21st 2024 at 8:44pm

This October image of a chipmunk was taken on my Lanark County property, I prefer to photograph small wildlife such as this fellow in a natural rustic setting. I always take my images of wildlife big or small early morning or late afternoon?not only are creatures more active but the low angle of light provides better modeling of the subject. When I frame my subjects, I look for angles that provide uncluttered backgrounds, I leave negative space in the framing to allow for text to be added if nee

I recently acquired an older exotic lens, probably circa 1980s. It is a Nikon 400mm f2.8 AI-S which is a completely manual lens with no VR. I paired it with my Nikon D850 to see if I could learn to tackle manual focus. The hummingbirds are congregating on the front of my property where agave plants are flowering at this time of year. This makes it easier for me to practice. This Broad-Billed Hummingbird landed on a stick. The camera settings were 1/3200s at f2.8, auto ISO-320. This lens is old,

Title or Location: This photo was taken at Couta Rocks on the north west coast of Tasmania
This is one of my favourite places in Tassie, the north west coast. Couta Rocks are in the distance, as is a blanket of stars and a full Moon. It is such a beautiful and powerful place up there, a different world, one filled with spectacular scenery and the power of nature, not to mention the cleanest air on Earth. I long to go back to this amazing place, to share more of it's splendour though my photographic eye.
